FINANCIAL INCLUSION PROGRAMME – THIRD SHARED NETWORK LEARNING EVENT FRIDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2015
A fantastic start to the new year ahead for the FIP with an excellent turn out at our third event !On behalf of the FIP team a big thank you again to all those who participated and for all your valued feedback.
Thank you to WSREC for hosting this event and to those who volunteered to host future events.
The event was held in West of Scotland Regional Equality Council. The speakers included Helen McCabe, Financial Inclusion Officer (CEMVO Scotland), Brenda Gillies, Money Adviser (MAS), Ghzala Khan, Projects Manager (WSREC) and Fergus Reid, Deputy Managing Director for Smarts.
Helen McCabe welcomed everyone and gave a brief view of the day, introduced GhzalaKhan,Project Manager (WSREC) who gave a presentation to the group showcasing WSREC. This is a great opportunity for the other organisations to learn more about WSREC and what projects they have currently running.
Helen McCabe & Brenda Gillies gave a presentation updating on the FIP progress both in the mainstreaming consultancy sessions and the money advice surgeries. Helen discussed the marketing and promotion of the FIP highlighting that there is much more work needed on this.
All members had the opportunity to take part in the shared networking exercise sharing their knowledge and experiences in the FIP so far. This was concluded with feedback and outcomes for the FIP progress.
Our guest speaker Fergus Reid, Deputy Managing Director for Smarts gave a presentation on “Introduction to TV Licensing for money advisers”.
Helen rounded up the event thanking everyone for attending and for all the feedback about the FIP so far.
