Financial Inclusion Programme Network Learning Event 12th  August 2014

A big thank you to all that contributed to making this event successful!

The event was kindly hosted by Money Advice Scotland (MAS). The speakers included Yvonne MacDermid, C.E.O (MAS), Craig MacDermid, C.E.O (MAS), Craig Simmons, Head of Strategy and Development (MAS), Shaista Asghar, Head of Operations & Resources CEMVO Scotland, Helen McCabe, Financial Inclusion Officer CEMVO Scotland.

Yvonne MacDermid opened the event with a strategic overview of financial inclusion work to date, including future aims and goals. Helen McCabe gave a presentation on where we are now with the project, and how we intend to progress with this in the coming months.

The latter part of the event involved active participation from all attendees. Feedback and discusions by attendees focussed on the learning that had occured, whether expectation were being met and if there had been any change or outcomes to the network members orgnisation, as a result of participation on the programme. The feedback was encouraging, showing that both mainstream and ethnic minority organisations were finding the consultancy sessions and training beneficial and valuable.

Our speaker Craig Simmons Head of Strategy and Development on secondment to Money Advice Scotland gave a presentation on the new FCA regulations.

Based on the promising feedback from this event, we are pleased to say that we will be continuing with our shared networking events. Our second quarterly newsletter has now been distributed to the network and is available on the CEMVO Scotland website.

Our next Network Learning Event will be held on Thursday 13th November 2014, at CEMVO Scotland Offices.
