This training will develop your understanding of what human rights are and how they are protected under international, supranational and domestic law. It will increase your confidence in using human rights language and using human rights principles. The session reaffirms that human rights are all around us from offices and factories to our homes and families and are our basic rights and freedoms required to live a life of dignity and respect.
Finally, this training will briefly outline the changing legal landscape of human rights in Scotland and will provide you the opportunity to be ahead of the curve and show leadership in protecting, respecting, promoting and fulfilling our human rights.
This training is the first of two human rights training sessions provided by CEMVO Scotland. It provides the context for the proceeding session which focuses on human rights in practice: using a human rights based approach as a tool to policy and decision making.
CEMVO Scotland welcomes all clients from the Race for Human Rights Programme and encourages the attendance of 2/3 staff members from each organisation.
