Climate Justice

Our climate justice work focuses on connecting ethnic minority groups with government, funders, and mainstream green organisations so that those most affected by the climate and nature crises can help shape the solutions.

By gathering robust, community-derived evidence on barriers such as energy efficiency, travel and nature we supply policymakers with the intelligence to design just-transition policies that work for everyone. At the same time, we strengthen community capacity through training, peer learning and leadership development, ensuring that ethnic-minority voices are present and influential in every climate forum.

Our impact demonstrates the power of this approach. Our EM Environmental Network has grown to 550 members, brokered £1.6 million in bespoke funding pots that have already supported 41 minority-led climate project

We aim to address the disproportionate impacts of climate change on our communities and ensure their equal participation in climate action. We recognise that race, ethnicity and socio economic status intersect to create unique vulnerabilities and inequalities in climate change. Through our various programmes and the Ethnic Minority Environmental Network (EMEN), we work to achieve a just and equitable transition to a sustainable future where the burdens and benefits of climate action are shared fairly.
