CEMVO Scotland and Changeworks are working in partnership to support ethnic minority (EM) communities across Scotland in a project aimed at increasing awareness, achieving affordable energy usage and reducing carbon footprint.
Together we will deliver an exciting new project called Energy Saving for All, funded by British Gas Energy Trust. We want to offer EM groups and its communities across Scotland the opportunity to get involved so that diverse communities can benefit from the support available to keep affordably warm during cold periods ofthe year.
What can we do for you?
Train EM members within diverse communities as Energy Saving For All
volunteers
Provide a toolkit of resources to help deliver energy advice to EM communities, including translated energy leaflets and films
Provide an energy advice communications package to share on your social media channels/ in newsletters providing energy advice
and support
Provide help to access financial support and energy efficiency measures from wider schemes
Provide access to professional energy support and advice from trained Changeworks energy advisors.
How it works
Whether you are an ethnic minority group wanting to organise an Energy Saving for All advice session for your users or an EM individual interested in becoming an Energy Saving For All volunteer please come and speak to us at CEMVO Scotland by arranging a quick one-to-one introductory chat about the project and your potential role in it.
Delve deeper into the project by joining us at our exciting events and interacting with the experts at Changeworks.
Become an Energy Saving for All volunteer and be part of our programme.
Volunteers will undergo specialised training with Changeworks which will equip them with valuable skills to provide first touch-energy advice to Ethnic Minority households across Scotland. Upon completion, all volunteers will be awarded a certificate to recognize their accomplishments!
Once trained, volunteers will become part of a pool to assist CEMVO and Changeworks in:
▸ Delivering first-touch energy advice sessions to EM
community groups.
▸ Collecting data from EM householders.
▸ Making referrals to Changeworks advisors and other advice agencies for further support.
