We are delighted to announce two events in Glasgow and Edinburgh to highlight the opportunity FAIR START SCOTLAND can offer to ethnic minority communities in Scotland. An initiative that provides tailored support to unemployed people for up to 12 months to gain jobs that fits their needs and circumstances.
Taking place on Monday the 21st of November at the Pearce Institute, Glasgow. Hosted by People Plus, The WISE Group, Remploy and CEMVO Scotland. And then on Tuesday the 22nd of November at the Norton Park Centre, Edinburgh. Hosted by, FedCap Employment and CEMVO Scotland with support from local agencies.
An opportunity to speak with FAIR START SCOTLAND participants from an ethnic minority background, about their employment journey. With bilingual staff to assist attendees that speak Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi.
FAIR START SCOTLAND is a Scottish Government programme delivered by third party agencies. It has proved to be very effective in helping people gain sustainable employment. Individuals can receive up to one year of 1-to-1 support. An adviser will assist them across the different employability stages and support them for a further year to help keep the job.
The delivery model is client centered which is reflected in its success rate. Yet FAIR START SCOTLAND is barely known to ethnic minority communities who are underrepresented. We would therefore like to address this imbalance to make sure that these events are attended by the most isolated groups. For some, FAIR START SCOTLAND could offer the life changing break they are looking for.
