Overview
CEMVO Scotland developed a pilot programme funded by Scottish Government during September 2016 – September 2017 we delivered a one year pilot in Dundee and South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnerships to support the process of engaging ethnic minority communities in the integration process.
Scottish Government have extended the project for another year to use the learning from the 2016-2017 pilot and provide race/equality support to 3 health and social care partnerships between 1st April 2018 – 31st March 2019. The 3 partnerships who will be supported through this programme will be South Ayrshire, Scottish Borders and East Renfrewshire.
What is the aim
The main focus will be on building the capacity of the partnerships and will include the following outputs:
- Providing capacity building / consultancy support to the 3 Health and Social Care Partnerships in developing race equality inclusive models of working
- Providing race equality / capacity building training to the 3 health and social care partnerships to increase the awareness and understanding of race equality among key staff, that will enable more effective and meaningful engagement with EM groups / communities.
Projected outcomes
Integrated Authorities will have increased capacity and understanding of race equality issues to enable them to develop processes that will better engage ethnic minority groups / communities in H&S care integration.
